Hiccup Waussie Loses His Hiccups

I’m Hiccup Waussie
People stop and stare –
Whatever are they looking at?
I’m only made of air!

Boiled Egg Waussie is sitting with band-aids sticking his white back on. Hiccup Waussie walks by and Boiled Egg Waussie comments that his hiccups are “really hiccuppy today.” Hiccup Waussie tells him that his hiccups are “Same as – hic – always” and hopes Boiled Egg Waussie “sticks together very soon”. Hiccup Waussie then sees Boomerang Waussie who is out bike flying, and Beachball Waussie who is jogging below him. Beachball Waussie suggests that a jog will help his hiccups and make him healthy.

As Hiccup Waussie is jogging along hiccupping to himself, he trips over his friend Ant, who is carrying a piece of bread on his back. Ant comments that Hiccup Waussie’s hiccups are “better than the snake who swallowed a jack-in-the-box.” Ant explains that his hiccups are only air and all he has to do is blow them out! They place a Big Notice in the paper addressed TO ALL BALLOONS. Are you flat? Is your air disappearing? I can help. Signed, Hiccup Waussie.

After blowing balloons all afternoon, Hiccup Waussie still has his hiccups. One balloon becomes so large that his feet leave the ground, despite the balloons’ efforts to hold him back. The balloon explodes! Hiccup Waussie has such a fright, he loses his hiccups. But when Ant leaves him a funny note telling him his fright was “better than the snake who swallowed a jack-in-the-box,” he laughs so much that he gets them back again.
