PINEAPPLE WAUSSIE’S TICKLY PROBLEM
I’m Pineapple Waussie
They’re tugging at my prickles -
I really wish they wouldn’t
They ought to know it tickles!
People keep tugging and tickling Pineapple Waussie’s prickles. He laughs so much, he cries pineapple juice tears. Soon he’ll have no pineapple juice left at all! His friend, Spike, joins him to seek help from Boomerang Waussie. “I can’t walk, I’ve hurt my paw,” explains Spike. That’s no problem for Pineapple Waussie at all. He just carries him on his shoulders.
They set off to find Boomerang Waussie, and see Burger Waussie sun baking in his garden. He’s covered in ketchup to prevent him from getting burnt. When Pineapple Waussie asks him why he’s using ketchup, his answer is simply “because it tastes so good!”
Boomerang Waussie flies Pineapple Waussie and Spike to the barber’s shop, and asks the barber to cut off Pineapple Waussie’s prickles. The barber explains that his prickles are fine – all they need is sharpening. So he ”cuts and snips and sharpens and shapes...” The barber steps back to examine his work, and exclaims that no-one will dare tug or tickle Pineapple Waussie’s prickles again. But as Pineapple Waussie leaves the shop, a hand gives a tug and tickle. “Ouch!” they hear. “Naughty, naughty! You shouldn’t have done that!” laughs Pineapple Waussie, as his pineapple juice tears start to fall again.
